Professional Development Programs

Knowledge that strengthens practice. Training that strengthens communities.

Our professional development programs give professionals, educators, organizations, families, and community members practical knowledge they can carry into their everyday work and relationships.

Through engaging discussion, real-world examples, and usable tools, participants explore topics that support dignity, safety, communication, healthy relationships, and greater understanding of the experiences of people with disabilities.

Sexual Health & Wellbeing of People with Disabilities

Supporting healthy relationships with knowledge, respect, and confidence.

Sexual health and healthy relationships are important parts of life, yet people with disabilities are often left out of these conversations.

This training helps professionals and support teams develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to approach sexuality, relationships, intimacy, boundaries, and personal safety in respectful and meaningful ways.

Participants explore strategies for creating environments where people with disabilities have access to accurate information, opportunities to make informed choices, and support in developing safe and meaningful relationships.

Participants will explore:

  • Sexual health and relationship education

  • Healthy and unhealthy relationship dynamics

  • Boundaries, consent, and personal safety

  • Communication around sexuality and relationships

  • Supporting informed decision-making

  • Creating respectful and welcoming environments

Anti-Bullying

Creating spaces where respect becomes the expectation.

Bullying can affect a person's confidence, relationships, sense of safety, and ability to participate fully in school, work, and community life.

Our Anti-Bullying program helps participants recognize bullying, understand its impact, and develop practical strategies for preventing and responding to harmful behavior.

Through conversation, examples, and interactive learning, participants examine how communication, relationships, and community culture can contribute to safer and more respectful environments.

Participants will explore:

  • How to recognize different forms of bullying

  • Warning signs and patterns of harmful behavior

  • Strategies for responding safely and effectively

  • Communication and conflict-resolution skills

  • The role of bystanders and supportive allies

  • Building cultures rooted in dignity and respect

The Art of Disclosing Disability

Making informed choices about when, how, and why to disclose.

Deciding whether to disclose a disability can be highly personal. There is no single approach that is right for every person or every situation.

The Art of Disclosing Disability helps participants think through disclosure thoughtfully and prepare for conversations in educational, professional, and community settings.

Using guided discussion, practical exercises, and real-world scenarios, participants examine their options, consider potential benefits and challenges, and develop communication strategies that reflect their individual circumstances.

Participants will explore:

  • Deciding whether disclosure is appropriate

  • Identifying when disclosure may be useful

  • Preparing for disclosure conversations

  • Communicating needs and expectations

  • Discussing reasonable accommodations

  • Navigating interviews and workplace conversations

  • Maintaining personal boundaries and privacy

Disability Etiquette

Understanding starts with how we connect.

Disability etiquette is about more than knowing the “right” terminology. It is about approaching people with respect, communicating thoughtfully, and recognizing each person as an individual.

This interactive training challenges assumptions, strengthens disability awareness, and gives participants practical guidance for communicating and working more effectively with people with disabilities.

Personal perspectives, real-life examples, and discussion help participants move beyond uncertainty and develop more comfortable, respectful interactions.

Participants will explore:

  • Respectful disability language and communication

  • Common assumptions and misconceptions

  • Appropriate ways to offer assistance

  • Personal space, mobility devices, and accessibility

  • Communicating across different support needs

  • Creating more welcoming workplaces and communities

  • Becoming a more thoughtful and effective ally

Learning That Moves With You

Our trainings are designed to go beyond the presentation itself. Participants leave with practical ideas, new perspectives, and tools they can apply in their workplaces, organizations, schools, and communities.
